BOWLES UPDATE!
Our amazing Year 5 & 6 children are currently on their Bowles Residential Trip. For all the parents out there who are feeling a bit lost and missing your gorgeous children, we will be in touch with Miss Webster throughout the week and will be posting daily updates for you below......
Monday
The children arrived at Bowles safe and sound late this morning. They were quick to get settled in and started on their activities and Miss Webster says all the children are being FANTASTIC and loving everything so far! This afternoon's highlights have been the skiing and high ropes! They have had chicken goujons for lunch and pasta for tea which the children were very happy about and then were off for evening activities! Let's hope they all sleep well tonight. I wonder how many will be up to join Miss Webster on the early morning walk tomorrow?
Tuesday
Wowzers! 30+ children on the morning walk this morning! Miss Webster says they were up VERY early today and are full of beans and ready to go! Lots of river fun on the agenda today for 3 groups! More to follow later.....
Speaking to Miss Webster this evening she said they have all had a FANTASTIC day and that all the children are being perfectly behaved and loving every element of the trip! She is expecting that they will sleep well tonight as so many of them were up at 5am this morning!!! We'll see......
Wednesday
Only 14 on the morning walk this morning!!! Miss Webster said the children had a lovely lie in this morning - the earliest risers were around 7am so much later than yesterday. Even Mr Trent didn't wake up till 7.15! ALL children slept really well. They have bacon butties for breakfast this morning and then are off for more activities - 2 groups are back on the river today and other groups are starting their climbing and 'leap of faith' adventures today! And yet again the sun is shining! The evening report is that all the children have had another great day and lots of the children achieved their goals - they all jumped off the leap of faith - WOW! The kayaking was amazing too! Another school have arrived now but our Aldingbourne children are all super lovely and mixing well!
Thursday
Numbers are dwindling on the morning walk - only 10 walkers this morning! Miss Webster says the children are all being 'as good as gold' and having such a great time! All the teachers are so proud of them all. Today brings more climbing and for most of the children some orienteering in the woods which will be nice in the shade! After tonight's campfire, Miss Webster is planning a nighttime walk up the hill to see tonight's full moon!
Friday
6 children made it on the final morning walk this morning - and 4 of those have made it every day - WOW! The children had a wonderful final campfire last night and a magical late night (10.30pm!!!) walk up the hill to see the full moon! Miss Webster said it was so beautiful - all the children laid down in the grass looking at the moon! Their behaviour continues to be PERFECT and they are all having the time of their lives! When I spoke to Miss Webster this morning she said they are all packed and ready to come home and now heading for breakfast and their final activities before leaving the site at 2.30pm! They hope to be back at school at 4pm but we will notify you by Parentmail if there is going to be any change in timings due to traffic!
